This time of year it's appropriate to pause to reflect on all the
great things about living in the United States. I wish everyone a
happy, safe holiday weekend!
The fourth of July also marks the mid-point of 2008 and Farm Bureau can look back on many accomplishments on behalf of agriculture. Our members have marched on the Capitol in support of comprehensive immigration reform as well as met with legislators. We hosted our state's elected officials at Farm Bureau Day in Tallahassee. During this year's state legislative session we found ourselves defending UF's Institute of Food and Agriculture Sciences, expanded the sales tax exemption to cover electricity used on farms and once again protected Greenbelt Classifications for rural landowners.
I look forward to continued success for Farm Bureau for the remainder of the year.
Once again, have a happy Independence Day!
