
Florida Farm Bureau Federation will host a series of receptions to introduce agriculture industry leaders to the four finalists for UF/IFAS Senior Vice President.
“We expect one of these candidates to be selected by University of Florida President Bernie Machen to lead the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences,” said Florida Farm Bureau President John L. Hoblick. “Farm Bureau is inviting all of the state’s agriculturists to attend these receptions and get acquainted with each of the candidates.” Hoblick was a member of the selection committee that winnowed the field of candidates to the final four.
The receptions will be held in the auditorium at the Florida Farm Bureau’s state office building at 5700 SW 34th Street in Gainesville. The reception for Kenneth Esbenshade of North Carolina State University will be held Sunday, Jan. 31, 6:30-7:30 p.m.; for Joe Joyce, University of Florida, on Thursday, Feb. 4, 5:30-6:30 p.m.; for Jack Payne, Iowa State University, on Monday, Feb. 8, 5:30-6:30 p.m.; and for Cameron Hackney, West Virginia University, on Thursday, Feb. 11, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
