
James Trafton, director of government affairs for Florida Farm Bureau Insurance Company, Gainesville, was installed as 2009-2010 Chairman of the Florida Insurance Council’s Executive Committee and Board during the Council’s summer symposium held in Destin earlier this month.
As Chairman, Trafton will direct the work of the Executive Committee and Board and work closely with FIC President Guy Marvin, Executive Vice President Sam Miller and other staff in providing member companies with educational programs, research, and representation before consumer, legislative, regulatory, and judiciary organizations.
The Florida Insurance Council is dedicated to the highest standards of business ethics and professionalism; committed to promoting and protecting the viability of the insurance market; resolved to earn consumer confidence and trust and determined to foster a positive public image of the insurance community. Florida Farm Bureau has been a member of the Council for more than 30 years.
In accepting the chairmanship for the next year, Trafton thanked Florida Farm Bureau for allowing him to serve the insurance industry in this capacity. He said he is honored to be chairman for the coming year.
Trafton has worked for the Florida Farm Bureau Insurance Company since 2004. Prior to joining Florida Farm Bureau he was vice president of Insurance Industry Consultants.
