Farmers and ranchers from across the Sunshine State will convene at the state Capitol next week to discuss key state policy issues with Florida legislators.
Florida Farm Bureau’s annual citizens’ lobbying event for the 2020 legislative session will be Tuesday, Dec. 10. The full day will begin with a legislative briefing breakfast and proceed with a full schedule of legislative meetings on Farm Bureau priority issues.
“Farm Bureau Day is essential to our grassroots process,” said Florida Farm Bureau President John L. Hoblick. “Farm families are able to advocate for important issues that impact their livelihoods and Florida agriculture.”
Priority topics include Water Policy, Best Management Practices, the “Rights of Nature” movement, E-verify, and funding support for Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and UF/IFAS. A Taste of Florida Agriculture evening reception will wrap up the day from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Capitol Courtyard, featuring special guest speakers Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried and Florida Farm Bureau President John L. Hoblick.
The Taste of Florida Agriculture reception is a free public event where guests can sample locally grown Florida foods, meet farm families and learn more about the benefit of agriculture to all Floridians.
