Gainesville, Fla. –More than 400 Florida Farm Bureau members will gather in Ponte Vedra Beach, Oct. 29-31, at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort to reflect on the success and challenges of Florida agriculture during the past year at the 73rd annual meeting.
The meeting is themed “Our Heritage, Our Future” and will spotlight award and recognition programs to honor young farmers and ranchers, state lawmakers, county Farm Bureau achievements and top farm leaders for distinguished service to agriculture.
“We truly are blessed to have such a devoted group of volunteer leaders among our farmers and ranchers,” said Florida Farm Bureau President John Hoblick. “We are proud to recognize all of our members who guide our organization and represent the voice of agriculture in our state.”
The grassroots of the organization will be evident as voting delegates decide policy issues for the next year based upon deliberations by county Farm Bureau members.
Other convention activities include a keynote address by world renowned speaker Al Walker, a President’s Awards Banquet, a legislative luncheon recognizing state lawmakers, the Commissioner of Agriculture’s Environmental Leadership Awards Breakfast, informative break-out sessions, a member benefits tradeshow, a silent auction benefiting Ag in the Classroom and agricultural scholarships and the Mason G. Smoak Benefit 5K-run.
