Gainesville, Fla. – Florida Farm Bureau Federation is seeking nominations for journalists who have increased the public’s understanding of contemporary agricultural production.
Nominees must be employed by a news outlet and have promoted Farm Bureau policies or activities.
The award is intended to give recognition to a professional journalist who presents fair and balanced coverage of contemporary agriculture and farm families. Op/eds will also be considered.
Applicants are nominated by County Farm Bureaus throughout the state. The deadline for submission will be Sept. 19.
The “Newsperson of the Year” award will be presented to one winning journalist at the Florida Farm Bureau Federation’s annual meeting in October. The award recipient will receive a complimentary registration and one night’s lodging for the meeting.
