Danielle Sprague has received Florida Farm Bureau Federation’s 2020 Extension Professional of the Year Award. Florida Farm Bureau President John L. Hoblick presented the award Sept. 3 at the annual meeting of the Extension Professional Associations of Florida, which was held virtually.
Sprague is an Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent at Jefferson County Extension. She was nominated by the Jefferson County Farm Bureau for her success in building relationships with farmers and ranchers in the local community.
“Danielle’s presence in the local community is key to our grassroots organization,” said Jefferson County Farm Bureau President Ernest Fulford. “Like Farm Bureau, she strives to promote the importance of agriculture in today’s society and helps communicate the importance of the farmer’s role in environmental stewardship.”
Florida Farm Bureau presents the award annually to a UF/IFAS Extension professional who has shown outstanding support in production agriculture and demonstrated exceptional contributions on behalf of the Florida Farm Bureau mission and vision.
The award is part of Farm Bureau’s commitment to strengthening Florida agriculture and its partnership with UF/IFAS Extension.
The Extension Professional of the Year will receive a plaque and $500 cash. The nominating county will also receive $500 towards a new or existing project conducted in partnership with the local Extension office.
