Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) has opened the nomination period for the 2022 Agricultural-Environmental Leadership Award.
The program recognizes farmers and ranchers across Florida who are leaders in developing and adopting environmentally innovative farming practices. The deadline to submit nominations will be April 15, 2022.
Nominations are judged on such environmental practices as wildlife protection and habitat conservation, pesticide and nutrient management, water quality, soil and water conservation and waste management and recycling.
Recipients of the Agricultural-Environmental Leadership Awards will be recognized at the Commissioner’s Ag-Environmental Leadership Breakfast at the Florida Farm Bureau Annual Meeting on October 27 at the Caribe Royale Orlando.
