The Sumter County Farm City Committee invites you to attend our “Farm City Tour”. The agenda for the day follows. Please be at Flowerwood Nursery at 11:00 am.

11:00 am Welcome and Introduction to Farm City – Anna Jameson, Brite Leaf Nursery

11: 15 am “Simple Steps to Creating a Successful Butterfly Garden” – Jim Davis, UF/IFAS Extension Multi-County Director, Sumter and Hernando Counties

11:30 am “Environmentally Friendly Strategies for Managing Pests in the Home Landscape” – Dr. Norma Samuel, UF/IFAS Extension Sumter County Florida-Friendly Landscaping and Urban Horticulture Agent

11:45 am “Cattle Grazing and Ecosystem Services ” – Laura Bennett, UF/IFAS Extension Multi-County Sustainable Livestock Agent, Sumter, Hernando, and Pasco Counties

12:00 pm – Lunch Served to Registered Participants – Oakwood Smokehouse and Grill

1:00 pm – Flowerwood Nursery Tour

2:00 pm – Questions and upcoming events
