Robert Spottswood Jr. is the President of Spottswood Companies, Inc., Spottswood Management and Keystar Construction. Additionally, he is a Partner at Spottswood & Sterling, PPLC. He currently serves as a member of the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council and is a board member of the Nature Conservancy and the Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida. Spottswood earned his bachelor’s degree in food and resource economics from the University of Florida and his juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University.

This reappointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

Mr. Spottswood’s reappointment continues to offer a drastic change for the District, bringing further security to the board’s change towards sound minds over emotional decision making and environmental rhetoric. Farm Bureau staff and others in the agricultural industry are optimistic about the atmospheric change of the Governing Board over the past several months with recent appointments and reappointments. While Mr. Spottswood is still a new face on the board, he has a good reputation in the south Florida agricultural sector and has already proven himself to be a thoughtful and scienced-based decision maker.
