Riding the Path to Safety

By definition, farmers and ranchers spend a lot of time off-road as part of their job. Driving a utility vehicle (UTV), like the Polaris RANGER®, can be a great way to leave the blacktop and all its constraints behind.

But, that doesn’t mean letting safety awareness go. June is National Safety Month and an excellent time to become reacquainted with the recommended practices that can help ensure a safe ride.

The best start on the path to safety is to know everything you can about your vehicle. Be sure to read your vehicle’s manual and keep it handy in case you need to refer to it when you’re riding.

Pay attention to safety stickers on your UTV and be sure to always wear your seatbelt and use the factory installed side nets.

It’s a good idea to inspect your UTV before every ride and check essential systems such as oil and other fluids, braking, lights, radiator, and steering linkage. Don’t exceed your vehicle’s towing and cargo capacity and don’t attempt a steeper incline than what your vehicle can handle.

To help make off-roading both safer and more affordable, Florida Farm Bureau members receive a manufacturer’s incentive discount of $200-$300 depending on the vehicle acquired. And there is no limit to the number of discount certificates that a Farm Bureau member may use so long as it’s no more than one per unit acquired and the acquisition(s) is/are made for their personal and/or business use.

The incentive cannot be combined with any other Polaris coupon offer or government/fleet program, but the certificate is valid with current event sales pricing and finance offers. All Youth and Polaris General® models are excluded.

Together, Polaris and your Florida Farm Bureau are doing their best to help you save … and be safe.
