Florida Saves Week (Feb. 23-28) is being celebrated locallly with a free Strawberry Day event at the Wednesday Farmers Market at the fairgrounds in Deland on Feb. 24.
During the event, University of Florida Extension agents will present educational programming on eating healthy on a budget and the nutrition of strawberries. Demonstrations include preparing a strawberry dessert topping for samplings.
Kids can get free coloring books and stickers.
