John and Emilee Peterson, Baker County

John and Emilee Peterson are first-generation farmers located in North Florida. John founded World Honey Market (WHM) in 2007, starting with one beehive. Under John’s leadership, WHM has grown to 4,000 hives at peak season. Emilee, the creative force, oversees the development of value-added honey products such as their Datil Sting Hot Honey and honey-roasted pecans, as well as managing online marketing. In 2018, they expanded their venture by acquiring Lacy’s Kountry store, blending their passion for agriculture and community engagement. Alongside their buzzing business, the Petersons find joy in spending time with their young children, Elyse (2) and JD (1).
