WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
The 2018 FFB Women’s Leadership Conference is set for April 5-7 in Tampa. Women across the Sunshine State will celebrate agriculture by visiting local farms, networking and learning about Farm Bureau. A Damsel in Defense® session will empower and educate women on how to protect themselves and their families.

AG SAFETY WEEK
Safety is always a top priority among farmers and ranchers. To recognize the importance of safety in agriculture, March 4-10 has been designated Agricultural Safety Awareness Program Week (ASAP).

COUNTY FARM BUREAU RECEIVES NATIONAL RECOGNITION
Broward County Farm Bureau received the American Farm Bureau Federation’s County Activities of Excellence Award for its series of Town Hall Meetings for Ag Classification. The local organization was among 24 County Farm Bureaus recognized at the AFBF Annual Meeting & IDEAg Trade Show in Nashville earlier this year.

FARMERS HELP REDUCE FOOD WASTE
The Florida Food Recovery Program (FFRP) is an initiative of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) and helps Florida residents who lack the means to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.

FARM BUREAU CALLS FOR CLARITY ON EXEMPTIONS FOR AGRICULTURAL HAULERS
While again urging the U.S. Department of Transportation to grant agricultural haulers a waiver and limited exemption from the electronic logging device mandate, Farm Bureau in recent comments responded to the department’s efforts to provide clarity to the 150-air mile agricultural commodity exemption and the hours of service regulations.
