Safety is always a top priority among farmers and ranchers. To recognize the importance of safety in agriculture, March 4-10 has been designated Agricultural Safety Awareness Program Week (ASAP).
During this week and throughout the year, Florida Farm Bureau is encouraging farmers to make safety a priority on the farm.
“Agricultural safety continues to be the best investment for farmer and ranchers,” said Florida Farm Bureau Farm Bureau President John Hoblick. “Focusing on safety and health in agricultural communities helps save lives and resources through the prevention of injuries and lost time on the job.”
This year’s theme is “No One Can Take Your Place.” The theme will focus on different safety topics each day of the week to increase awareness of safety in rural communities, including hearing protection, respiratory issues, distracted and impaired driving, fire prevention and general health.
The American Farm Bureau has an array of resources available to help bring awareness to safety in rural communities including videos, social media posts and a safety toolkit. Watch the American Farm Bureau Safety Facebook page for announcements during ASAP Week.
