Coloring Contest is Now Open to Young People

Jan. 3, 2014

Children who have a gift for coloring or who enjoy art projects have the opportunity to participate in a statewide competition. Selected works they create will be exhibited for public viewing at the 2014 Florida State Fair in Tampa in February.

The 2014 Florida Youth Agriculture Coloring Competition is divided into three categories: kindergarten and first grade; second and third grade; and fourth and fifth grade. Each child must color a page provided for the contest. An overall winner will be selected in each category and will receive a family pack of tickets to the fair. All three category winners’ pages, along with those from other participants, will be placed on display in the fair’s Youth Art Center.

To read the contest rules and get started, access the coloring page at www.faitc.org. The contest is sponsored by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Agriculture in the Classroom, Inc. and the Florida State Fair.

The entry deadline is Jan. 24.
