FFBF Hosts Iowa Farm Bureau for Annual Trip

July 2023

Florida Farm Bureau hosted 165 Iowa Farm Bureau members for their annual Membership Incentive Trip June 22-25, 2023. Members toured a variety of places in Northeast Florida and were able to visit with county Farm Bureau leaders from Duval, Putnam-St. Johns, Nassau, Clay and Baker counties.

“Membership is vital to Farm Bureau and each year we look forward to taking county leaders from across Iowa on our Membership Incentive Trip,” said Jeremy Coyle, Iowa Farm Bureau Field Service Manager. “The trip allows the Iowa Farm Bureau to celebrate and recognize local leaders that have been a membership “topper”. County Farm Bureau Toppers have worked hard to recruit and retain members during their county membership drive, and the trip is designed to reward and educate them as well. We appreciate the help we received from the Florida Farm Bureau in setting up the agricultural tour stops. Our members learned a great deal about Florida’s diverse agricultural industry.”

The group toured Tater Farms in St. Johns County, Blue Sky Farms in Putnam County, Cary State Forest and the Jacksonville Port Authority in Duval County. Members learned about various commodities grown in Florida like sod, potatoes, citrus, cattle and timber.

“Our Florida Farm Bureau staff was excited to highlight the diversity of Florida agriculture with our friends from Iowa Farm Bureau,” said Jason Mathis, FFBF Assistant Director of Agricultural Policy. “As always, the producers in Florida were happy to open their farms and show their love of agriculture and their respect for the land that provides food and fiber around the world.”
