The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking nominations for the 2014 Woman of the Year in Agriculture Award.
Past recipients of the “Woman of the Year in Agriculture” award represent all facets of agriculture, including cattle, vegetables, timber, citrus, row crops, equine, horticulture, tropical fruits, sugar cane, dairy, agricultural journalism and education and outreach.
The award was introduced in 2001 to increase awareness of the important role women play in the production of food and fiber as well as the good management of natural resources.
A nominee must be at least 25 years old, must be actively engaged in an agricultural occupation and must have been a Florida resident for the past 10 consecutive years.
Community service and overall contributions to the development of Florida agriculture are also required.
