Rail Safety Week is Sept. 22-28

Setember 12, 2019

Every three hours in the U.S., a person or vehicle is hit by a train. Rail Safety Week (RSW) is observed the last week of September each year to raise awareness about the importance of rail safety.

Rail Safety Week is organized by Operation Lifesaver, Inc., in partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation and other partner organizations, including the American Farm Bureau.

Activities are being planned each day during Rail Safety Week to share lifesaving messages throughout the nation’s communities, including “Operation Clear Track” on Tuesday, September 24, when law enforcement will raise awareness and enforce the railroad grade crossing and trespassing laws.
