Orlando, Fla.– The Florida Farm Bureau Federation’s Women’s Committee held its annual meeting on Oct. 27 during the Florida Farm Bureau’s 75th Annual Meeting in Orlando.
More than 35 county Farm Bureaus were recognized for their philanthropy throughout the year. A total of $17,246.87 was distributed to various charitable organizations through the Women’s Fund. The Fund supports charities that focus on children, nutrition and women’s health issues.
Danielle Daum of Lake Placid was elected as the Women’s Committee vice-chair. Sarah Carte of Live Oak will continue to serve as chair.
District 3 representative, Valerie Ansell, of Duval County, will step down and Wendy Smith from Putnam/St. Johns will replace her. Julie Wall of Marion County will be the representative for District 4. Other districts remain unchanged.
At the meeting’s conclusion, Carte announced that the location and dates of the State Women’s Leadership Conference will be St. Augustine, March 2-4, 2017.
Florida Farm Bureau, the state’s largest general agricultural organization, represents more than 145,000 member-families. We serve to enhance farm enterprise and improve rural communities.
