Florida Farm Bureau Celebrates 2nd Annual Ag Day

Florida Farm Bureau Federation will celebrate Florida agriculture and football with two Ag Day celebrations this fall.

The Home Field AGvantage 2nd annual Ag Day celebration will kick-off on Aug. 27 with the season opener Florida State Seminoles vs. Duquesne Dukes at Doak Campbell Stadium at 5 p.m. The second event will be Florida Gators vs. South Florida Bulls at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Both tailgate events are free to the public and will provide fans a complete interactive agricultural experience; spotlighting different products grown around the Sunshine State. Other highlights include live music, educational exhibits, games, food samples and kid-friendly activities.

“This is our opportunity to promote the connection that Floridians have to agriculture and the farm families in our state,” said Florida Farm Bureau President Jeb S. Smith. “Farmers and ranchers are the backbone of the economy. This is a day to celebrate and bring awareness to the importance of our farmers and ranchers and how we are all connected by the food they produce.”

The Ag Day celebrations will also include on-field recognitions to honor farm families for environmental stewardship, a fan participation tribute to agriculture and a Farm Bureau member-appreciation tent with catered food. Kick-off for both celebrations will be three hours before game time.
