Florida Farm Bureau President Statement on Importing Beef Supply

Florida Farm Bureau President Jeb S. Smith has released a statement on the recent announcement of beef importation from President Trump.

“The U.S. and Florida cattle markets have remained a rare bright spot in American agriculture for several years, driven by the market realities of strong consumer demand and limited supplies. The Florida Farm Bureau appreciates President Trump and the USDA for their commitment to maintaining a strong and competitive American cattle industry, while looking out for consumers. We stand ready to facilitate engagement between Florida cattle producers and the administration prior to finalizing any trade actions that would impact the nation’s beef markets.”
