Florida Members Serve on National Advisory Committees

Seven Florida Farm Bureau members have been selected to serve on an American Farm Bureau Issue Advisory Committee (IAC). These committees give members the opportunity to lend their expertise on important issues that impact agriculture. Their guidance helps develop national policy for the grassroots organization.

The following Florida members were selected by AFBF to serve:

  • Joseph Guevara, Alachua County, Animal Health IAC
  • Ardis Hammock, Hendry/Glades County, Farm Policy IAC
  • Kate English, Hendry/Glades County, Environmental Regulations/Water IAC
  • Michelle Williamson, Hillsborough County, Organic, Food Safety and Direct Marketing IAC
  • Austin Spivey, Lake County, Ag Labor IAC
  • Ryan Jenkins, Santa Rosa County, Technology IAC
  • Clayton Archey, Seminole County, Energy IAC

Outcomes of the IAC committees’ deliberations include advice and counsel to the AFBF Board of Directors on policy-related actions the organization might take, recommendations for state Farm Bureau policy development and policy recommendations to the AFBF Resolutions Committee. Members also provide a bench of issue experts to testify at congressional hearings, meet with lawmakers and communicate with the news media, as requested.
