Freezing Temperatures Impact Florida Farmers

Florida Farm Bureau has commented on the freezing temperatures that farmers, ranchers and growers are experiencing across the state.

“The recent and continuing cold weather events have challenged Florida’s farmers at a critical time during the growing season. Damage is still being assessed, but we know it is significant.

“Florida farmers and ranchers are resilient. Even in the face of unpredictable conditions, they continue to adapt to provide fresh, Florida-grown food for our communities.

Florida Farm Bureau is working with its members, stakeholders and elected officials to assess damages and be a voice for disaster relief. Growers are encouraged to take the UF/IFAS freeze impact survey to report agricultural losses.”
