Florida Farm Bureau will hold its State Young Farmers & Ranchers Leadership Conference, themed “Rooted in Resilience” at the The World Golf Village Renaissance St. Augustine Resort, July 8-10, 2022.
More than 200 young farmers and ranchers will attend informative breakout sessions on current agricultural issues and learn how to promote agriculture in their own communities.
“We are excited to offer another fantastic leadership conference this year and welcome such a diverse group of young agriculturists back to the World Golf Village,” said Florida Farm Bureau Leadership Programs Coordinator Michele Curts. “Our young farmers and ranchers are the future of agriculture and we are excited to provide them with life-long skills and networking opportunities to prepare them to continue growing their agriculture passion.”
The conference will kick off with an awards banquet on Friday, July 8. Keynote speaker, Braxten Nielson, will share his encouraging remarks about resiliency and perseverance. In addition, the banquet will highlight how young farmers give back to their community through the County Activity Awards. A country music concert featuring Chris McNeil will round out the evening.
Breakout sessions will address an array of agricultural-related topics, including business and financial management, sustainability and conservation, mental health wellness and opportunities for CEU credits.” Closing keynote speaker, Scott Burrows, will provide motivational remarks and inspire attendees to cast vision on their lives and overcome life’s challenges with grit and a positive mindset.
This year’s conference will host the semi-final rounds of Florida Farm Bureau’s 2022 Discussion Meet competition, which will take place on Friday, July 8. The competition gives competitors the opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas in a simulated committee meeting. The Final Four Discussion Meet participants will be announced on Saturday, July 9. The finalists for both the Excellence in Agriculture and the Achievement in Agriculture competitions will also be announced on Sunday, July 10. All finalists will advance to the Florida Farm Bureau Annual Convention in October.
