Lawmaker Receives Legislator of the Year Honor from Florida Farm Bureau

November 2023

State Rep. Kaylee Tuck (District 83) has earned Florida Farm Bureau’s 2023 Legislator of the Year award for her outstanding leadership during the 2023 legislative session.

Rep. Tuck represents citizens in Glades, Hardee, Highlands and Okeechobee counties. She worked tirelessly on behalf of Florida’s farmers and ranchers, sponsoring House Bill 1343, an agricultural lands bill. The special assessments piece of the bill was eventually moved to the “tax package” (Senate Bill 7062), which was signed into law, providing relief to farm families.

“Rep. Tuck is a tireless advocate for agriculture,” said Florida Farm Bureau Director of Legislative Affairs Andrew Walmsley. “Growing up in agriculture, Rep. Tuck understands the challenges facing our farming and ranching families and the importance of addressing outdated regulations and policies that could ultimately put our farms out of business.”

Rep. Tuck received the honor at the Florida Farm Bureau Federation state annual meeting during its legislative luncheon on Oct. 26 in Orlando.
