President Jeb S. Smith Comments on DOL Application Process Decision

Florida Farm Bureau President Jeb S. Smith commented on the Department of Labor’s decision to resume application processing for temporary and permanent employment.

“We’re grateful to U.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer and Congresswoman Laurel Lee for their leadership in ensuring the Department of Labor’s Foreign Labor Certification Office was deemed essential and able to resume processing H-2A applications during the government shutdown,” said President Smith.

“Florida’s farms depend on a reliable and timely H-2A program to bring in the skilled workforce needed to harvest our crops and feed families across our state and the nation. This action helps keep our state’s agriculture moving forward.”
