Women in Ag Recognized with State Award

March 2023

Florida women representing 21 county Farm Bureaus received the Women’s Activity Award Thursday, March 17, at the Florida Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Conference Awards Banquet at the Bluegreen’s Bayside Resort in Panama City Beach.

Recipients of the award were recognized for their contributions to local communities and improving awareness of agriculture through educational programming, leadership service and public outreach.

In addition to recognizing women for their public outreach, the three-day conference, themed “Growing Forward,” provided over 90 women the opportunity to network, build friendships and learn valuable tools that will help them persevere during trying times.

“Our wish as the Women’s Leadership Committee is that you will return home refreshed, energized, enlightened and excited to promote agriculture,” said Women’s Leadership Chair Danielle Daum. “We hope these opportunities help you continue Growing Forward.”

Keynote speakers included Safety Specialist Dr. Amy Johnson, DNP, FNP-C who addressed farm safety practices and mental health resources specific to the agricultural industry. Additionally, past Women of the Year in Agriculture recipient, Dr. Anne Blount shared her agricultural journey and passion for helping youth cultivate their enthusiasm for the industry.
